Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and she also won a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. After the end of the seventh season, the show was canceled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
